The link doesn't work Ben but I googled it and it looks like it belongs in the drinks cabinet of the royalty from Dune

heh...  "hidden cork, accessed only by a bespoke anchor key".  You know who their target audience is when it's that hard to get the actual whisky out.

An E150a dripping doorstopper?

Because!

LOL happy

They try to put an emphasis on the time it took to mature.

Unless the hour glass that is included in the box takes 29 years to run through it is pointless.

Hourglass is there so you can check the time it takes for you to start regretting your purchase happy

I was going to put this in the Style over Substance topic but couldn't find it. It must be buried deep. 50 grand for a Nas bottling. ONLY 700 bottles. Selected from 6 casks instead of the usual 20. She says whisky can't always be about the flavours. Really? So why talk about matching the flavours to a Bentley car. A hand made bottle? Wow! How rare is that. It would be cheaper to buy a second hand Bentley and an ordinary Nas bottling of Macallan.

what  I like from a glass artists point of view:

its great to see that so many distilleries spent so much money for mouthblown bottles and handcrafted cabinets, supporting artists and artisans -

on the other hand, it is unfortunately very rare that they come up with an aesthetic result...
so let's see what new excesses the future may bring... I find it exciting.

be well

take care,

Just imagine your granny's horror when she goes looking for her best wedding hat, only to find that tinker Paterson has pulled the old switcheroo with his exorbitantly overpriced portsky.

I think that the worse thing is that they are a result of finishing in other casks. They make out it is expertly put together but in reality they could have been in the casks too long or not enough cask integration who knows, hence why they needed the finishing.

I am sure they will be on whiskybase soon enough on a 100 points happy

It would be really good and very intersting to see a pucker tasting note for these 3 bottles.

Would have been interesting to listen in on the decisions making around when this would finally be "worthy" of bottling. I mean since it took 6 cask types to put a final finish to an out turn of TWO bottles.

I like that TWE offers £5 off on my first purchase when I open that page. I might have to order two.

You know how a picture's meant to be worth 1000 words? Well, as so often with Dalmore, there's some inflation involved - this one's apparently worth 4720 words. Two consecutive articles on Whisky Intelligence this morning, the second of which alone is the longest I've ever seen.

Should you not feel like reading a medium-length essay on the topic, I'll precis it for you: prats waste shed loads of time and money fiddling with modest drink.

As luck would have it, I'll be in Dundee in a few weeks' time. I'm tempted to pop into the V&A for a few words with the poor staff. "Paterson should really stop cycling up the inside of artics at box junctions. Especially when he's carrying such overpriced, er, I mean, expensive whisky. What happened to the rest of the bike?"
