About Thermidor:

Disclosure: I am not in any professional or semi-professional relationship to the whisky business. I do not sell whisky here or at auctions, so I do not profit from my scores or tasting notes in any way.

My scoring:

00-49 Various levels of failure where as the score goes down, the amount of flaws and their severity increases. The kind of stuff even ginger ale or coke can't make drinkable.
50-59 Vaguely reminiscent of whisky but still a very sorry lot.
60-69 The lowest tier of what I consider whisky. Drinkable if the objective is to get drunk.
70-79 Decent blends, grains other than top shelf stuff, and weakish single malts go here.
80-89 Where I expect a single malt to land. 80 is a score for a bottle that doesn't impress but doesn't offend either, and 89 a rare score for contemporary OB bottles.
90 The kind of stuff to buy now and save for later starts here.
93 and above is for whisky that has no flaws nor omissions, just perks.

New support system and FAQ.

We have been working hard on some new features on Whiskybase. It was time to upgrade the help files and the support system. We are not quite there yet but expect a new FAQ and support system in the next week. It will contain a lot of answers and instructions on how to use the website as well as examples how specific elements on the site work.

Whiskybase is founded in 2007 with the goal to create the biggest resource of whisky information in the world. A community driven website built by and for whisky enthusiasts.
