Batch variation seems to be an issue in Glenfarclas 105, so let's give this 'bang for the buck malt' a proper re-review. Slightly aggressive, the nose starts off with fruity sweetness, strawberry yogurt, candy apple and alcohol. With water, the fruitiness intensifies, featuring peach, roasted nuts and hints of vinegar. After a bold and peppery arrival, this young beast becomes quite tasty. Chocolate, juicy berries and a touch of mint flow into a lingering finish, full of spices, bitter oranges and tiramisu. Calling this malt 'the poor man's A'bunadh' wouldn't do it justice!

It seems that the bottle code (lot) has a a big impact on the experience of the whisky. Mine, unfortunately I haven't note the bottle code, has been verary pleasant.
A powerful sherry dram, not aggressive despite of the 60% and with a warm and soft final

Classic Glenfarclas' sherry profile with extremely huge ABV is a great way to spend the whole night with pleasure. Perhaps since the bottler has excluded '10 years old' on the box, this NAS single malt has become more mediocre. However it is still a nice dram. 83/100.

Tasted in a tasting set and immediately taken with me on my next visit to the liquor hall.
The nose reminds me of a glass of red wine that has been on the table for a long time after a hard evening. Firm, good wine that is.

Taste and aftertaste could certainly also appeal to me.
    A fun one to remember.

A favourite sherry bomb for everday dram. Thanks to CS, it is much more intersting than 10 or 12 years Glenfarclas

Really good malt. Of course not a high-end whisky and rather spicy due to the cask strength. Is given when diluting.
    Great price / performance ratio.
    • Nose
Anise, light sherry influence, mandarin, apple. A little more citrus flavors with water.
    • Taste
Orange / mandarine, raisins, dates, moderately hot, light nuances of cinnamon
    • Finish
Sherry, dry orange, overall fruity with water

Aroma Sweetish notes of wine, port, plum, dates, dark chocolate, wet wood.
Taste Slightly astringent, burning (effect of degree) sweetness, light grass, dried fruit compote.
Aftertaste At first, there was one bitterness, after the whisky stood for two days it opened and undoubtedly got better, the bitterness went away completely, a fairly pleasant aftertaste came, dark chocolate in the foreground with raisins and a wine tint.
Conclusion: Sherry nice whisky, a little rustic. In order for the aroma and taste to open, he needs to breathe a little.

No way a sherry bomb in my book!!. I tend to get a lot of bourbon-matured like notes here. I doubt a full sherry maturation.
