Colour: Full Copper
Nose: neat: sherry influence is obvious and upfront but there's also some honey sweetness. First thing on the nose is that sweetness, with fresh fruits and citrus notes. There's also an interesting "aguardente" aroma, and also something that kind of reminds me of old books. Surprisingly, easy to nose neat, despite its strength. Water doesn't really change the profile, maybe just a tad more honey sweetness.
Taste: neat: very hot and spicy, this is where you realize it needs a little water! with water: it obviously tones down the alcohol. Very spicy and lots of wood notes. Less sweet than on the nose, but still some sweetness coming through.
Finish: long, very sweet and oaky but well under control. with water the finish is less sweeter.
Comments: Excellent stuff. Although not on the front label (105 is the bottling strength) it's a 10 year old whisky, with lots of power. Nose is great, it just lacks a little balance on the mouth. Still, great stuff!
MY SCORE: Highly Recommended
