Part of the "Teeling Trinity Pack".
I'm not the biggest fan of Irish malt, so how will I perceive an Irish grain?
To it's advantage I do like grain whisky... so here we go.
Most Scottish grain in the 3-8 year old range is rough, spirity and hardly a competitor to vodka for mixing.
This is clean, tasty and fairly complex.

Lots of dry grass, dusty hay loft.
      Cereal.
I do pick up some grapes, which I assume is from the cask.
The nose is usually not the most exciting part of a grain whisky, so I will give it a pass.

There is no age statement to this, so I assume it's not way more than barely legal.
In that case I find it a lot better than most young Scottish grain.
I contribute that to a good wine cask rather than a standard bourbon cask.
It is sweet, fruity on melon, pears and grapes.
      Fair amount of spice.
Actually more tasty and much more complex than many Irish malts.
    • Finish

Middle of the road in length... or would that be width?
Wood working it's way forward overtaking the sweetness with suitable bitterness.
