- A great whisky: a perfect finish drink to end the evenings! We have everything nature can offer: campfire, smoked haring, wet autumn forest, hints of sweet caramel and vanilla, rubber. Great with (and without) a drop of water!
A peated, smoked, caramel-like and buttery nose with soft hickory and rum influences.
Stony, full body, complex and balanced with heated tones and rubber. Vanilla-flower finish.
Very full finish. Love it. Broad palet of: smoked haring, seaweed, animal fat, wet autumn forest...
- A simple and nice one, not as typical as the regular 10 yo but still tells you what is Laphroaig
Peat, straight from bottom, oyster, some oily fruit volatiles, a small hint of ink from newspaper
Strong, peaty and smoky, old-time orange juice, less iodine than 10 yo, generally much dull, not as clear as 10 yo
medium, smoked bacon, black chocolate, subtle sweetness
- Oily and vegetable! Mustard, black pepper, nettle, laurel, hay, old banana peel, honey, sawdust, peanuts, salt, smoked sausage, hard cheese, machine oil, smoke, coal, bandage, medicines.
- It's the Laphroaig nose, it would be recognized among a thousand. But this one is a hair more abrupt, more smoked, less iodized and more syrupy. We feel the influence of bourbon, it goes very well with ash and betadine, softening slightly. The little that is modified in the nose is modified to taste. A slight sweet influence, but overall we remain in a known universe, caramel, chocolate and cola, married with peat and vegetal notes. A somewhat sparkling finish, full of coffee and moderately long. We appreciate the power of alcohol, and that of peat, nevertheless I prefer the 10 years of age, more refined and more typical.
