and then the glass is empty. An incredible flavor cargo. A lot of oak, but still in the frame. It would be almost pointless to guess here. OK, there is no smoke and obtrusive sherry is not felt, at most Refill. For that I would attest to the whisky for at least 30 years, perhaps a no-name-1970s Speysider, of which there have been some lately? Definitely delicious, the stuff. 90P.
    • Nose
Juicy comes to mind first. Ripe peaches, apples, a whole fruit basket, but also a strawy component and a sweep of oak, cloves, nutmeg. Lots of fruit, lots of spice and sweet with slightly tart undertones. Very oily, which is a strange association in the nose. With water the nose becomes extremely sweet and heavy with lots of fruit and oak.
    • Taste
In the mouth, in addition to the syrupy fruit notes immediately a lot of bitter oak notes, strong, but round, oily and heavy. Lots of oak extract, plus some cloves and black pepper. With water, the whisky softens a bit and the woody notes turn a bit sour.
    • Finish
The finish is medium long, sweet, slightly fruity and in the end but then harsh with plenty of oak, without being slain
