I make sure to taste whiskies multiple times before writing detailed tasting notes whenever possible. Right now, I’m especially focused on collecting whiskies from the 1999 vintage.

As a fan of both whisky and wine, I have a real interest in whiskies with wine-influenced profiles. I’m also drawn to terroir-driven whisky projects and the key role of barley in production (Waterford, Bruichladdich, Domaine des Hautes Glaces, etc.).


My scoring method is inspired by the standards used in tasting competitions. Each whisky is rated out of 100 points, divided into four main categories:

Appearance (5 points): I evaluate the visual aspect of the whisky, taking into account viscosity, brilliance, and clarity.
Nose (35 points): This category measures the intensity, complexity, and balance of aromas, with a focus on the distinction and harmony of scents.
Palate (40 points): Here, I assess the balance and complexity of flavors on the palate, the whisky's structure, as well as its body (alcohol).
Finish (20 points): I evaluate the length and quality of the flavors that persist after tasting.
