A Nice enough but not earthshattering dram. Certainly not worth the money these days so I'm glad I bought this a few years ago when it was more affordable. 85.
    • Nose
At first sharp, almost metallic but then letting in a few earthy notes. Hints of Plasticine, sweat. Not a nose to give up anything easily, you really need to work at it. Light orange oil, bergamot & dried herbs. Not a huge amount of wood for having been in cask for 47 years. Feels tired though. With water a lot better with oranges and light sandalwood. Clove oil.
    • Taste
A rich earthiness and herbal nature is the strong first impression here with a lot of cinnamon spiciness behind this. I don't dislike it at all. Drinks well for a 47 year old but I had hoped for a little touch of peat smoke which I got in an older Glenlivet.
    • Finish
A bit short but the spicy notes hang in to the medium term
