    A solid, good old G&M that reminds me of their Strathislas and Glen Grants of the same age and period. It does feel as if it's perhaps a bit lighter than you'd expect of 46%. That could be up to the individual bottle and its cork, though.
    • Nose
      Oaky, with spices and a prominent hazelnut aroma. Chess pieces, peppermint, and dry cigar leaves. Dry licorice and some herbs.
    • Taste
      Coffee and quite a lot of spices. Absolutely lovely sherry integration, feels like a high class whisky, if perhaps a bit dry on account of the tannins. Just a drop of water is enough to make it a bit too loose, so I wouldn't add any.
    • Finish
      Long, fruity, with pralines and blackcurrant or blackberry jelly. Unfortunately it's not as strong as the taste, so I feel like this falls just short of the 90 point threshold. Reminds me a bit of the 1977 40yo Vega blend by NSS.
