After tasting other Uigeadails (2006, 2008) I wasn't very impressed with the "new stuff", however if you dont want to spend a pretty penny on the older Oogies, this bottle is for you.
    • Nose
      82 82
Peat hits you like a truck, after this passes, the earthy, veggie, chocolate notes come through. also the brine of the sea with seaweed.
    • Taste
      83 83
Not as complex as some of the previous versions, but has a lot of chocolate raisins and strawberries in there. with a little bit of spicy vanilla and menthol.
    • Finish
      80 80
Fairly long, with a slight espresso taste and a little but sulfuric.

way darker than all the other Uigeadail"s I remember: actually I thought I"d cracked open a Corryvreckan instead, but I didn't. The darker and heavier side (lot more sherry influence than normal for sure) delivers a solid base and the higher usual notes of Uigeadail adds depth and big complexity. Reminds me a lot of a 2008 batch which I loved. Remarkable they could repeat such one 8 years later. The taste builds around a mountain of sweet and earthy peat, but no smoke nor ashes. A weighty, round and balanced profile. Then there is a good dose of chocolate, herbs, brine, burnt sugar and enough citrus (lime) to balance it perfectly. Simply great!

long Smoke, slightly oak with: slightly sulfur, barbecue fire
