I love Irish malts, the triple distillate makes for a thick and oily dram and this is a lovely rich and easily accessible dram. The typical oils and thickness comes out very early, but the sherry spice is dry and very pleasant. If you find this grab it and thank me later... You don't have to suffer through that green bottle any more for good Irish whiskey.
    • Nose
      87 87
The nose is rich, sherry fruit and spice cake lead. Malt biscuits and pink rubber erasers trail. Floral notes and a farmy note of sheep barns. More of that soft malt porridge and dense fruity sweets.
    • Taste
      83 83
The palate is sharp, spicy and lush. Oily and mouth coating with a thick sherry spice, tea leaf tannin and oat cookies.
This was okay, the fruit lead like crazy, but it seemed like the dram struggled to keep up.
    • Finish
      85 85
The finish is shorter towards the medium end. Sweets porridge with strawberry preserves and more sawn oak from an old barn. There's a funk and the oily rubber erasers come back as it closes out.
