- First impression:
Solid and comfortable with good smoke content.
This is how a 20-year-old Laphi smells in cask strength. Wonderfully round the flavors come from the glass in the nose. A very pleasing chocolate sweet, paired with a bit of lemon grass and cold ashes. In addition, minimal salt and a little radish.
Very pleasant and noble! I can not refrain from smelling it.
The taste is seamless. Something of round, silky soft and without junk marks! Slight sharpness alternates with the sweet / salty notes. The smoke settles in the mouth and is, so to speak, the baselayer for all further impressions. Enormous complexity? Not even close! But it does not have to be. A malt, which is just good. But also ...
Retirement / Nachschmecken:
The re-tasting could be more intense. In the finish, of course, remains the smoke and the soft impression in addition to slight bitterness. Yes, here the Laphi weakens something or could be more interesting.
A beautiful Laphroiag a bottler, which I have so far completely left out. My first Adelphi image
No malt with rough edges, but extremely complacent and tasty. When I was looking for a smoker with a bit of age, I decided against the 25-year-old from 2015, against the 19yo Ardbeg and for this bottling of a UA. Nothing wrong! Although the 25yo is also good image Ardbeg probably also what you read?
