    Devils Cut... intriguing name.
And an interesting process which I was not aware of.
Now I am, thanks to karloff whom also supplied the sample.
I'm not sure if this is what sparks the fire in it, but I found the spice to be a bit over powering to the rest.
    • Nose
      77 77
Maybe a bit bolder than the "average" bourbon.
Lots of oak, but strangely less vanilla than expected.
      Spicy prune compote.
And karloff is right on something "plasticy". Not sure if it's a bucket, if so it's clean and unused. Reminds me more of a newly opened junction box.
    • Taste
      79 79
The boldness from the nose is immediately noticeable at arrival. A rush of quite hot spice.
As this settles and more taste is emerging I seem to find pieces of that junction box.
Don't like it that much, but it's there for just a short moment before everything turns rather bitter.
    • Finish
      76 76
The bitterness continues and expands into a fairly long dry finish. And it warms like a log fire.
