    I like a good Tawny Port, and I enjoy most of the new Tomatin range. Still not too sure about the success of this combo.
    OK nose, way to sweet on arrival, but it picks up a little at the very end. Without a doubt I have encountered better Port finishes than this.

      A distinct sweet port nose.
      Red wine, red plums, berries.
      Wood notes are light. Pine?
      Maybe a little "closed".
    • Taste

      Creamy texture.
      But this is really too intensly sweet.
      Quite some level of spice making it go rather dry.
      Roasted flavours midway and out.
    • Finish

      Some coffee and dark chocolate.
      But again, the sweetness is really sticky.
      Past medium, and it gets better as it fades and the dryness recides.

    an interesting 14yo with a complex mixture of fruit-port sweet notes and spicy-bitter oak.

    Nice fruity complex on the nose together with a spicy aroma, which then predominates in the taste and pushes back the fruits. The finish remains spicy. (For me personally, out of the way too spicy, of the fruits little remains - I have to try again)

      superficially sweet port wine notes of fresh (red apple, sweet mango, peach and slightly sour pear) and dried (dried plums, raisins) fruits and red grapes. Honey, caramel and a light nut aroma (macadamia and hazelnut) are also nicely integrated. A certain oak spice (for me it goes first towards cinnamon and nutmeg and later towards white pepper) also comes through. Nice and fruity complex with a spicy aroma - nice!

      first sweet and soft port wine note. The spicy (pepper and nutmeg) arrives somewhat delayed in the mouth, which then changes into a nutty aroma (hazelnut) with a stronger oak note, which swings out into a bitter, coffee-like bitterness (but is limited). The fresh fruits no longer dominate, but the spice.

      a strong spice persists with a note of oak and nut for a very long time. Only a hint of the dried fruit remains of the fruit. [I would have hoped for more fruit]

    Good mature Highland Malt, he got his finish in Port Pipes;

      very fruity (grapes, plums), port-note, vanilla, caramel, sweetness, vanilla;
    • Taste
      mild oily onset, fruity (plums), spicy (a lot of oak, pepper), bitter choco, getting dry;
    • Finish
      little, medium-long; spicy, dry finish;
