The Famous Grouse 18 years, blended malt, 43% alc. Original bottling

Nose: Very fruity, sweet and ripe berries, currants, raspberries and blackberries. Then peaches and apples develop, a hint of juicy pear in the background. The sweetness can be described as creamy, with toffee and milk chocolate, with lemon cake. All in all round and fruity with minimal spice.

Palate: Again lots of fruit: berries, juice oranges and grapefruits, followed by dried apple rings. A trace of walnuts, otherwise very dry. With dark chocolate, cappuccino and oak.

Finish: Long, fruity, spicy. A slightly bitter oak note spreads. In addition, some cinnamon and trail mix.

Conclusion: wonderfully uncomplicated - beautiful part! 83/100 points (2015). www.notesofmalt.com
