  1. Saika scored this whisky 32 points Expert Junior

Extremely chemical, the most positive description I can give for its nose is probably brine (TBH KOH smell), after a few minutes it gives you some NH3 smell as well. The finish is probably the best part of the dram because it is finished after all. Okay, maybe there's some dried passion fruit in the after taste.

[September, 2017]  Finally I managed to get a miniature of this infamous whisky that Serge from whiskyfun called "my worst whisky ever" and scored it with 1 (one) point only but not without adding "and that might well have been a little too much".  This review of Serge is and ever will be legendary (please read it in full here http://www.whiskyfun.com/ArchiveJanuary05-1.html#050105) because of his famous question:  Does whisky rot?  I did not dare to buy a full bottle so it took some time to find this miniature and now I will check if it is worth the 11 Euro I spent on it...

To be honest, Serge:  You received either a spoiled sample or a mislabeled one - this cannot be the whisky you described in your tasting note.  I will save the other half of this miniature and send it to Serge (with the plea for rehabilitation for the unjustified denouncement).

[November, 2017]  Now Serge re-tasted it but still it is rather foul and chemical to him.  Obviously, there is something in there that attacks his taste buds while mine keep quiet.  Yes, tastes are different and that is very, very good (otherwise we all go for the same drams and that would be boring).  And Serge really revisited his score and wrote " I’m ready to multiply my previous score tenfold. Aren’t you impressed?" - that leaves this whisky with stunning 10 points, finally.  Yes I am impressed, Serge...
    • Nose
      89 89
The colour is pale gold and the texture shows both early and late legs and some late sticky tears (I call this an average oiliness neither great nor bad). Now I am curious for the nose: Oops, that is not bad at all. A really nice fresh fruitiness (green apples, pears, melon) in a honey sweet and floral surrounding, actually I like that! Definitely no rotten meat or eggs, no sulphur, no chemicals, no old clothes. It even reminds me of some fruity old Bowmore or Benriach from the sixties (not kidding!!!).
    • Taste
      85 85
The taste is comparable to the nose and offers a fruity and sugary sweet profile that just lacks some power (a higher abv would have been better). But again Serge, there is not the slightest trace of cleaning liquid or poison or sulphur and it is easy drinkable.
    • Finish
      86 86
It arrives on the palate unspectacular (average just like the texture promised) without any positive (coating, warming) or negative mouthfeel (bitter, drying, astringent). The finish is rather short and dries out a little bit in the end but it keeps this nice fruity profile of nose and taste. I did not add water as the dram is somewhat underpowered anyhow.
