87/100. Fruity, sweet, fresh, slightly smoky springer with a little spiciness.
    • Nose
Without water : Light, characteristic smoke, almost superimposed by sweet sherry notes that bring both dessert and slightly dark fruit flavors. In addition a certain freshness, mentholisch, as element of the smoke. With water : I like something like that better. The freshness is better, the fruit becomes clearer and brighter. Strawberries and apricots, pomegranate. Toffee. Crystal Salt. Pepper, wet leaves. A leathery note similar to the Talisker.
    • Taste
Without water : sweet! Fruity. Apricot jam, red apples, honey, a little chili, pepper. Prunes. Dessert aromas have for the time being in the key no. With water : again very sweet, apricots and strawberries, with fresh Eurkalyptus and mint, honey, cherries. Fresh, creamy, slightly spicy, just mine. Oranges, some juicy, some bitter. Gooseberry.
    • Finish
the slightly menthol smoke fights for a presence he does not otherwise have and is accompanied by apricots, gooseberries and mineral notes. Sweet, spicy finish, with the slightly smoky note in the background.

Light peat, also sweet red fruit
    • Taste
Sweet, honey, peat, just like the 10-year-old but fuller. More body.
    • Finish
      Light peat and honey

I also really like this whisky! I particularly like the complex and changeable smell, in which, in addition to great vanilla, wood, fruit and smoke flavors always discover new facets. Similarly, it shows up in the taste, whereas the finish is relatively spicy and dry. Assumption: The basic character seems familiar to me, although I'm relatively sure that I have not yet had the malt in the glass. The dirty and mineral smoke reminds me but totally jump bench. So I guess just a Campbeltown whisky with about 48% vol, a sherry portion and 14 to 18 years. So there would be, for example, the 15er in question. Maybe it's also a Benromach 15 or an unknown Highland malt?
    • Nose
A wonderful combination of sweet malt and creamy vanilla notes, a soft and slightly dirty and mineral smoke and light fruits (papaya, honeydew melon) determines the first nose. Gradually, the light fruit flavors to sweeter berry notes (raspberries, strawberry jam) and complement each other aromas of creamy caramel coffee sweets, cheesecake, some leather and dried figs.
    • Taste
Here the mouth is filled with sweet milk chocolate, red wine gum, some spicy oak, coffee and a pleasant mineral smoke.
    • Finish
Now the malt is surprisingly tart and less fruity. Here, a mineral smoke, some ash, earthy wood aromas and a slight juniper berry sweetness set the tone.

  6. Moritz scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

Appealingly complex, no wrong notes. Sweet and spicy, alcohol very well integrated.
    • Nose
Mild, sweet and very harmonious. Pleasantly spicy and slightly fruity.
    • Taste
Spicy and sweet, quite dry. Very round, a bit fruity.
    • Finish
Very dry, short but very present. Oak is pleasantly dominant.
