  1. MaltMartyr Plus scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

The neat nose has the classic, yet indistinct dumpy Sig Ardbeg appeal. The finish is the biggest draw for me as is the nose. I enjoy when a peated whisky remains, yet flourishes for an indefinite period allowing the ability to stop for the evening. Its quite enough.
    • Nose
      91 91
peat, balanced phenolic, creosote, playdough, then ethanolic, Smithfield ham, pineapple, citrus, slight ammonia (don't know why maybe strong phenol/ethanol); today, this seems like spicier phenolic, but Ardbeg is like that
    • Taste
      90 90
citrus more on the tropic pineapple site, creosote, peat, strawberry soda, more smoked ham, anise; the honey smoked ham comes out of the phenol more with water.
    • Finish
      94 94
campfire, warming wide sweet yet a little sour; its an black pepper creosote phenolic asphalt-like roadway through to the gullet, and it plumes yet haunts the corridor in a dominant yet comforting way making you appreciate what just flowed.
