A very round, very elegant sherry man who lacks nothing.

    Save a realistic price.
    • Nose
Creamy vanilla, creme brulee, candied orange zest, honey and dark fruit. Add some ginger, toffee and leather in the background. Rounded off by a touch of nuts and oak.

In the nose a very round, very fine malt. Nothing stands out, nothing is missing.
    • Taste
Oily, creamy, sweet. Sherry, dark fruit.
Then again honey, beeswax and vanilla with caramel sauce. Similarly, the impressions of the nose are repeated: orange, honey, leather, ginger. Added to this is milk chocolate and coffee notes.
    • Finish
Long with a slight oak bitterness, chocolate with honey crisp and orange peel.

The 43% variant is in many ways more powerful and complex than the 40% variant. I'm surprised by the much bigger draft. Not only the three volume percent more alcohol make the difference here, but also the other, darker filling of this variant of the twelve-year-old sherry classic. A very outstanding "dessert whisky", which knows how to convince less "whisky-experienced" at the first sip, as well as has much to offer for more experienced single-malt-lovers.
    • Nose
First of all: I compared the 43% variant directly with the Macallan 40% version. In Nosingglas, the Macallan's 40% variant is slightly brighter than the Forty-three percent with its mahogany dark bronze.
The nose of the 43% variant is actually darker-sweeter, is called more plum than baked apple, the sherry is a bit more intense and actually is also a beautiful mint fresh immediately felt.
    • Taste
With 43% there is also a wonderfully oily arrival in the mouth, it is then still darker-sweeter. Deep sherry. Honey and raisins as in the 40% variant, in addition to a nice nutmeg note.
    • Finish
In the long finish of the 43% variant sherry, dark fruits, raisins and nutmeg are complemented by a delicate oak note.
