    Tasted another 15yo Springbank miniature that was much darker and had bottle code 94/141.

    This one is really superb - probably the best 15yo old I had so far. Competes with some of the best old Springbanks.
    • Nose
      Intense, sherry wood, nutty, dried fruits, plums, dates, hints of leather, whiffs, of smoke, more on spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, also some toffee - very rich and complex - fantastic!
    • Taste
      Oily, creamy, very fruity, citrus, fruits, orange jam, plums, prunes, toffee, brown sugar, good sweetness, fine oak wood, milk chocolate - excellent!
    • Finish
      Medium long, warm, more fine wood notes, toffee, sweets, very smooth - great!

    Much punchier and smokier than any other regular bottle of the Springbank 15yo with the black label. If I could just get more of this.

      Honey, green fruits, hints of smoke and leather, tobacco, more on citrus fruits, lemony - fantastic
    • Taste
      Very punchy, oily, waxy, liquorice, apples, pears, apricots, great notes of oak wood, just subtle sweetness, hints of peat and smoke and ashes - great
    • Finish
      Long and burning

    • Nose
      Leathery, fruity, waxy and oaky. Dried apricot, mango, white chocolate, litchi, apple, vanilla, minerals, marzipan and a whiff of peat. Although the oak starts off pretty heavy, it becomes lighter later on, like pencil shavings. A little marshmallow. Clearly a nose of days gone by, although some of it may be due to OBE.
    • Taste
      Again a lot of dried apricot and oak. More beeswax. Mango, cocoa, peat, leather and pepper.
    • Finish
      Now the peat comes forward. Milk chocolate, ash, dried apricot, nutmeg, chestnut and salmon sashimi with soy sauce.
