    Very soft and calm whisky, but at the same time can not be called smoothed, there is in it both the depth and character. A worthy representative of the country of the rising sun, with its softness and delicacy reminiscent of Isle of Jura.
    • Nose
      The first nose - a little smoke, bourbon, wet stone, then light lacquer-acetone notes, dried fruits and all this against the background of a freshly broken green apple.
    • Taste
      Soft taste of wood, citrus freshness, sweetness, spices, everything is very delicate and soft, light smoke and peat.
    • Finish
      Continuation of taste, fading spices and spices on the background of wood, at the end - light echoes of fruit compote, puree from vegetables, peat.

    Well, what have we here (say this in the Lando Calrissian voice, please): a Yoichi 15 Year Old. Let me dust off the sample bottle and pour this baby. It has become almost unaffordable at this point (if you can find a bottle, that is), so allow me to take my time for this. It was taken off the shelves some two years ago and it does not look like it will return inside a decade.
    Waxy and fruity nose on apricots, peach and yellow plums. Hint of incense, marshmallow and lots of vanilla and nuts. Freshly cut Granny Smith keeps it quite fresh. Young, green twigs. Mizunara wood. Very nice.
    The body is very light, which is a bit disappointing. Lots of citrus on the palate, joined by something milky. Pretty sharp at first sip, but quickly becomes a lot more delicate. Clear presence of peat. Oriental spices from the wood.
    The finish is medium long and brings out more of the fruitiness.
    A very accessible, lovely Japanese whisky. But the new NAS-releases (especially the ones on sherry) are no less good in taste or intensity – au contraire.

    Old leather, furniture polish, chocolate, allspices, christmas cake, sweet fruits, light creosote, coffee and cream notes on nose.

    Creosote, peated smoke, spices, oak cask, chocolate, coffee, green apples, dried fruits notes on palate. 

    Spices, vanilla, coffee, green apples, light creosote, dryness, floral, green tea notes on long finish.

    I taste this malt during my trip to Japan in September 2019, together with a Yoichi Manzanilla Wood Finish bottled 2018, at the Cordon Noir in Kyoto

      Even more intense than Manzanilla, lots of good fruit and wood that comes from aging
    • Taste
      Good fruit, not very sweet, slightly spicy, no peat
    • Finish

    Do not find it any better than its younger counterpart, which I would rather grab at prices then.

      Plum, raisin, dark honey, walnut, hazelnut, noticeable oak, good corner more than the 10s / 12s, the light smoke is also back, green apple in between and peach
    • Taste
      Red apple, plum, raisin, chest of drawers, all sorts of nuts, cocoa, thyme, oregano, very dry and herbaceous, previously lit kitchen herbs, some burnt gum, flamed orange
    • Finish
      Medium long, the oak, dry apple slices, raisin and nuts
