    Grant's Ale Cask Finish NAS | 40% | 20 + 19 + 19 + 19 = 77pts
N: Sweet ripe apples, some sweetness, plums, hops like IPA or APA, hopped lager, dried bananas.
T: Fortified and alcoholic hopped lager, pastry, vanilla, malt.
F: Short, poor, hop bitterness, wheat and cereals.
B: Even unexpectedly soft for the Grantza NAS release. You can drink it.

OK, the beer is not there, but the malt, and the caramel.
    • Nose
sweet, malty, cereals, caramel. Especially not sprittig.
    • Taste
very soft, a little orange, a lot of caramel, some oak.
    • Finish
as above, light, malty, sweet, getting a little tart. Not so long.

Thanks to karloff for a sample of this blend that I otherwise would have, and still will be passing.
I enjoyed the nose, but over all this was not my cup of whisk-tea.

There is a distinct note of dark ale. Not to such a degree that you wonder where the foam hat has gone, but it's an interesting although unusual touch to a whisky.
Cereals add to the impression that this smells more like a brew than a distilate.
Other than that it is pretty muted and soft.
    • Taste
      68 68
It's sweet, but there's also some dry bitterness.
I find some of the cereal notes on the nose to become almost queasy floral for a moment.
I enjoyed the uniqueness of the nose, but I'm not too sure about the pallate.
    • Finish
      70 70
It's got the aftertaste of peppered dark ale.
      A bit too sweet.

Very tasty. Amazing how strong the beer comes through. That makes the blend interesting and is really delicious. Very good for the price and a blend.
    • Nose
Vanilla, very sweet, light fruit notes of light fruits such as pear, a little bit bready, cereal mash, dusty, sawdust, a beer puff
    • Taste
Vanilla, pear, cereals, very sweet, slightly creamy and a hint of dark beer, slightly malty
    • Finish
still sweet, but also a bit bitter of the beer, stays really long

It's not a bad mix at all. It's good in the price range
    • Nose
A certain fluidity, slightly reminiscent of Ledaig / Jura. A little bit of salt, a bunch of sweetness and a little artificial perfume and peanut compote.
    • Taste
The first feeling of sweet fruity. But very soon the bitter beer tone (not unpleasant) follows. Overall, the taste is a bit flat.
    • Finish
Medium long. The beer is sweet-bitter and spicy

  8. Pyromann scored this whisky 55 points Expert Junior

A beer finish that really tastes about beer (black), a really interesting thing for this money when I do not want any mainstream
    • Nose
Weak, caramel sweetness, a little bit of wood
    • Taste
Oily, pleasantly soft, sweet; surprisingly there is really black beer, but nothing else
    • Finish
      More short, sweet-sweet, beer tones

  9. Gearmailteach scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

The nose is really interesting. Like. Only in the mouth of Grant's is not with. A piggy whiskey.
    • Nose
First and foremost Grant's: summer meadow, bright, sweet fruits like apple and pear. But just behind it sneaks an interesting note of malt and gaerender cereal maelstrom in the nose. Bittersweet beer odor, almost alcoholic, but always sweet. This blend is complemented by vanilla and toffee.
    • Taste
First sweet, then more bitter. Some fruit, a little caramel, unfortunately quite flat. The interesting biemote is repeated only in my imagination.
    • Finish
Short, light bitterness and malt. Reminds somehow of the departure of an ale ....
