  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

a great Auchentoshan, to the point, strong, intense with a lot that defines the Lowlander. I like it very much. You can also really take your time with it, it continues to develop in the glass.
    • Nose
very strong, intense, grassy, a little vanilla and lots of citrus peel, predominantly grapefruit and pomelo, maybe even bergamot. Over time, a slight, vanilla-like sweetness is added, but the ctrus notes completely dominate the quite ripe malt. Great, typical Lowland nose, which is anything but tame or boring. The nose gets better and better, the longer you smell it and even gives the impression of something like light mineral smoke. Fascinating.
    • Taste
Due to the percentage with a lot of strength, there is still a nice sweetness, pepper and grassy notes, a little bitter citrus, also a not too weak dash of oak spice. Very strong, robust malt in the mouth.
    • Finish
first actually oak, a little mint, then a nice subtle sweetness that plays with the tart citrus peel notes. In the end, the more bitter but fresh notes dominate.
