- One tastes the origin: Campbeltown. And yet he stands out clearly from the cousin Springbank and knows how to please quite independently.
If one had to describe the nose with a temperature indication, it would be a "very warm" nose.
Malty, slightly salty, but at the same time orange and apricots are already to be found.
Fruity-sweet with milk chocolate, marzipan and Christmas spices.
In the finish there are echoes of so many Springbank bottling, but without the beautiful strong fruity saltiness at the end.
- a quiet beauty not many people may have the senses for. never shouting. no need for. but also no organ for. quiet, complex, a certain depth, always balanced. falling out of the time.
Campbeltown! some coal smoke from far away, a little rubber, old stored apples and oranges, sandalwood, sandalwoodoil
superb. I don't feel any motivation right now for detecting flavors here. rather a hesitation. and it would be anyways difficult because everything is interwoven not densely but tenderly. satisfying even or especially from this distance kept.
a bit short but fitting into this concept of a beauty crossing your way, which is already gone once you happen to realize the chance meeting. you can't get hold of it.
