This and Uigeadail both perform better than the 10, but not quite so much better where they are worth twice the price or more. That said, they are very good deviations from what you’re used to with Ardbeg and would be worth it for the occasional change of pace.
    • Nose
Bright sweet smoke. Leather and vegetation. Pepper and medicinal aroma. Oak strong after a bit.
    • Taste
Peppery with a sweetness, smoke, rubbery peat.
    • Finish
Pepper, but less than the taste, which ramps up to be more rather quickly. Smoke, oak, brine. Very long finish, with oak coming in later.

L15 02907 - needs a good 10 minutes in the glass. Pure it is too spicy and alcoholic for me. With 54% already optimal, therefore no further dilution

Great, makes you want a whole bottle, even if it may be a little overpriced. From my point of view the clear winner against the Uigeadail
    • Nose
      93 93
Peat fruit with ham and campfire, distinct sweetness, vanilla, lots of fruit with black and red currants
Less dominant smoke than for example Uigeadail, very nicely integrated. Complex and profound
    • Taste
      94 94
strong oak with lots of spices (pepper, chili); nice fruitiness, pleasant peat smoke (campfire), creamy sweetness, vanilla, mint, coffee, tobacco
      very round and tasty
    • Finish
      94 94
long, powerful, spice well integrated, bitter and sweet, very impressive, everything in it that the nose and palate offered
