  1. Jeanguy scored this whisky 83 points Newbie

Nose: rather clean. Fruity, honey, malty. Oak influence and charming.

Mouth: plenty of dried fruits, malty, spicy and peppery. Quite complex and evolving towards oakiness and biscuits in the same time.
Finish: medium length, drying with toffee, chocolate and sherry influenced tannins.
Not a world champion but a solid daily dram for sherried whisky enthousiasts.
Lacks thickness in the body but quite affordable

    Colour: dark amber.
Nose: sweet, apples, dried fruits, oak, spices, furniture varnish, vanilla, nuts, red currant and raisin.
Mouth: sweet with apple sourness, dried fruits, pepper, oak, black tea, nuts and herbal.
Finish: long with spices, vanilla, pepper, furniture varnish, apples, light dryness and dried fruits notes.
Aberlour 16YO is a good balanced, smooth and tasty whisky. It’s a good choice for daily drinking.

The color is nice, but colored. The whisky can do a lot but too little of everything.
    • Nose

Typical bourbon note with citrus and orange, in the background a little vanilla and caramel. Nutty with light fruits and honey still get through.
    • Taste

Very balanced, he combines sherry with coffee notes and remains fruity sweet. Nussíg, with some caramel, it remains soft and very pleasant

Everything is over pretty fast. It remains malty and dry in the mouth, but only for a short time

  5. Falnor scored this whisky 77 points Connoisseur

Very easy and your everyday sherry dram. Still too light and not enough depth
    • Nose
Sweet and light nose. A good portion of vanilla, nuts and chocolate. Caramel and little wood
    • Taste
Honey, marzipan for the sweet and soft entry, almonds, cacao gives it some body but in the end too thin for me
    • Finish
      A few spices with apple

    • Nose

  8. StyrianSpirit scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

A pleasant fruity-spicy-elegant "dessert whisky" in its prime.
    • Nose
The nose of the Aberlour is very inviting with its fresh baked flavors, the light fruitiness (especially light grapes) and some sherry; In the background also some oak spice appears.
    • Taste
Very clearly comes the Aberlour in the mouth, a beautiful spicy fruitiness (again with the light grapes) determines the scene. Also on the palate are some darker fruits and oak.
    • Finish
The oak determines with a few herbs and some sherry the medium-long finish.

Before trying no high expectations: it turned out very good. Not that it is world classe, but no sharp ends or alcoholic situations. A solide sherryd dram!
