an old Taliskermen who appears as a stepbrother, clearly made by the sea, but a lot of dry dark dark chocolate, a very successful composition, the background of summer + herbs like, as well as the beautiful berries, with a little more patience I could taste camphor + currants so it remained a hunch
    • Nose
Salt + sea in the summer, hot boulders on the beach, flowering summer grasses , grated chamomile flowers in warm hands, raspberries in the basket, strawberries with pepper
    • Taste
hot salt from the sea on the tongue, smoke from the peat grill in the mouth, the pepper and the strawberries mix with the hot sea salt, your lips taste of iodine, seaweed + chamomile, warm chocolate dark + bitter mixes with raspberries on your palate ..
    • Finish
long, dark dark chocolate, salt, dry > fine berry sweetness> soft liquorice + light peat smoke> cold tobacco smoke

    Terrific.
    • Nose
The scent of green apples, peppered with cloves and peppercorns. Mild smoke. A compote of red berries (red groats) with hot vanilla sauce. Mineral smell, salt water spray. The fruity notes at first complacent, then, with the emerging smell of salt water wet pebbles, pleasantly demanding. Old leather works its way forward, bringing along old wooden floorboards and the smell of hay.
    • Taste
Strong and at the same time velvety warming. Dry at the beginning and with a pleasant portion of oak. Pfeffrigig, neat salty, licorice. Mild smoky. Fruit sweetness of overripe pears takes out some of the saltiness. Mineral on the tongue, a pebble in the mouth. Later cocoa and milk chocolate.
    • Finish
Long, dry, a spoonful of rape-honey, a hint of applesauce, cold ashes and: salt.

A great, great malt - and a wonderful Talisker, which in all respects extends well beyond the 30s standard.
    • Nose
Oh, sea air (indeed!), Exotic fruits, passion fruit and mango, sun-sweet sweet herbs, light smoke, furniture polish, old library, vanilla, apples, raspberries
    • Taste
with a spoon of water: oily, sweet and spicy, lots of citrus fruits, grapefruit, oranges, lemon, passion fruit, mango, herbs again, sweet smoke, sweet apples, raspberries, tar, dark chocolate and ginger, the Talisker-Chilicatch falls here very civilized out, rather ginger
    • Finish
long and warming, in the end eucalyptus

  4. Calmar scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Young in sensation, but very powerful molt, not too diverse in derivatives, but the pressure and density compensate for everything, and in the development, again, powerfully adds sweetness and creamy notes.
    • Nose
      Open, dry, dry boards, lemon slice in tea, light notes of carpentry workshop and solvent, mineral shades - plaster, brickwork; cardboard, raw tin;
    • Taste
Powerful, rich, oak, light smoky peat notes, strong pepper wave and at the same time syrup sweetness,
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, oak, pepper, syrup sweet, lemon zest, vanilla, grapefruit peel, light tablet bitterness.

A BIG whisky. Huge body with waves of flavours gives a perfect mouth feel. First the sweet mango and other exotic fruits, then more herbal tones, all perfectly balanced with salt, pepper and a good portion of crisp, clean peat smoke. All very excellent. Just the finish could be a little longer.

A great malt, very complex. Personally a bit too round, but still great.
    • Nose
      92 92
Pepper, chili, followed by caramel, roasted almonds, honey, butterscotch, raisins, strawberries, some cocoa powder, very light touch of sugared pineapple, salt caramel, cookie dough, some white chocolate. Super diverse and complex. But always recognizable as a Talisker.
    • Taste
      89 89
Spicy oak, salty, peppery, then almost old fashioned. Sweet fruits like raisins, figs, dates, with intense caramel. First sharp, but then a little thin.
    • Finish
      91 91
Very intense, but rapidly weakening. Very pleasant mouthfeel, cheeks slightly dry, strong salivation on the back of the tongue. This makes the finish a bit watery. Overall present for a long time, getting sweeter. No bitterness in the finish. A little more intensity would do him good.

Very well balanced and drinkable - it's so creamy that the high abv is really not noticable
    • Nose
      91 91
Fresh, lots of peat, also some smoke, sea breeze, yellow fruits, peaches, apples, apricots, hints of vanilla - very good
    • Taste
      92 92
Very very oily and creamy, then punchy, sirupy, fruity, mixed fruits, hints of lemons, good sweetness, will integrated peat and smoke, salty, more maritime notes, iodine, some seashells, old books - great
    • Finish
      90 90
Long, burning, lemons and grapefruits, more old books

What's not to love? About as good as you can hope for. Balanced, rich, complex and most of all, just damn tasty.
    • Nose
Oh my god, yes! Whiffs of paraffine, furniture polish and wet ropes, all the while backed up by peaches and nectarines, even mangos. Proper briny notes too, with a whiff of charcoal and peat.
    • Taste
Proper oily stuff, with loads of brine and tar, and a whiff of plastic, supported by big notes of salt, as well as subtle peat. An enjoyable sweetness to balance things, with hints of oranges and caramel glazed red apples.
    • Finish
Peaty, briny. Whiff of milk chocolate. Very long.

  10. Bosi scored this whisky 91 points Specialist

A horny whisky from a great distillery, which unfortunately has been destroying its very good reputation with bad bottlings for years. This bottling, however, shows Talisker at its best.
    • Nose
      92 92
The nose is very complex and after the expected smoky start, flavors of sea salt, chili, grapefruit, mango and vanilla pudding are added. The smoke has something sooty with each new moment adds new notes: shoe polish and bananas.
    • Taste
      90 90
The Talisker has a slightly dry mouthfeel and is characterized by seaweed, citrus fruit, some ginger (instead of the usual chili catch), and sooty smoke.
    • Finish
      92 92
The finish is wonderfully long and the dry mouthfeel remains. In addition, I now taste the chili, a touch of oysters and a bitter note, which I can not quite assign.
