One dram at Cardinal in Stavanger, and I didn't regret making it a double.
    A dram to remember.
    • Nose
      93 93
It smalls it's age, and that's a good thing for an old whisky.
      Rich and complex.
Not overly woody, just extreme quality old sherry cask.
Underlying the dark coffee and soft leather is an earthy note of dunnage warehouse.
Absolutely no alc. Amazingly delicious and tempting.
    • Taste
      94 94
Exactly what to expect from the nose.
The fullness in flavour makes the lack of alcohol strength and almost absence of spice unimportant.
It just carried me away in enjoyment.
      Sophisticated softness.
    • Finish
      95 95
The goodness just continues. Rich, dark, chocolate covered black cherries, coffee, leather. Light sweetness, absolutely no bitterness or dryness.
It doesn't even fade... one of the longest finishes I have ever found in a whisky.
