  1. Thermidor scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Water makes everything else better, but I feel the nose is better defined when neat.
    • Nose
Quite coaly for a Bowmore. You could be forgiven for mistaking it for a Caol Ila, except for that familiar 'chemical' part. I like the wood; it's discreet yet present. Pine sap, and some fat from a grilled rib. Water makes it more tarry at the expense of everything else, and makes it much less like a CI.
    • Taste
A refined palate. Smooth, yet powerful, with a good deal of peat to back it. Is salted honey a thing? This kind of feels like that. Tervaleijona candy, and some nice, dry oak that's not obviously ex-anything. I really like the fruitiness that water unlocks in this dram.
    • Finish
Minty, tarry, and lasting, but could be more full. Water helps but it never quite matches the taste.
