I wonder why some whiskylovers look down on Amrut. I can’t find anything wrong with this bottle for example. The nose is round and woody, with a spicy sweetness. The taste is well balanced with oak, malt and oranges later on, and the finish is long with warming tones of tropical herbs and fruit. This was my first Amrut and it melted away all my prejudices (years ago I tasted several homemade whiskies in India….)
