Whisky Reviews for Inchgower 1965 JW

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 92.50 points

  1. checkpointuk scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

    Colour:
    Amontilado sherry
    Nose:
Absolutely fat and creamy start. Tons of blueberries, blackberries, dark cherries, sweet plum liqueur and sherry flavors. With fine leather, balsamic, tobacco, figs in chocolate sauce, honey and soft wood, this artistic nose is completed!
    Taste:
Cherry, wood and salt dominate the taste. The notes are soft on the tongue; Furniture polish, floor wax, old sherry and dry wood and slightly watery cherry / plum juice.
    Finish:
Medium long - now worn by woody notes and again with fresh cherry. Unfortunately happens in the finish "Aromentechnisch" seen, otherwise not so much!

Beautiful, and with water it is so creamy, lipsmacking stuff.A great sherried whisky.
    • Nose
Its massive, huge fruity sherry of great age, the richest fruit cake in history probably sums it up.Rich date, prune, dark plump raisins and maybe a few burnt matches.
    • Taste
Like velvet but with a spicy fruit kick and some oak influence which at 39 years of age is expected. The sherry is massive and mixes in with dark forrest fruits, blackberry, raisins dates and some balsamic glaze.
    • Finish
Gets sweeter , the fruits just keep on coming
