  1. Thermidor scored this whisky 77 points Connoisseur

Too young, but not at all bad for its age. It's not mentioned anywhere in the packaging, but the taste says it must be somewhere around the 3yo mark.

I had this as a part of a random Japanese whisky tasting set courtesy of the Finnish whisky club Viskin Ystävien Seura. The evening's lineup was: Akkeshi Taisetsu 2022 (77 points), Akashi 6yo bourbon, sherry, wine casks (78), Chichibu Peated 2010 (86), Hanyu 15yo The Final Vintage (88), and Mars 24yo 1989 Komagatake cask #619 (88).
    • Nose
Barley and sour cream? A spicy, dry wood I can't immediately call bourbon, sherry, or any of the more common types. Dill and something meaty. With water, faint poster glue, sweet pears and faint rubber bands. It is just a touch smoky.
    • Taste
A persistent wood taste that isn't bad but doesn't remind me of anything Scottish. The peat feels more here, but I'd guess it's still just 10ppm or thereabouts. The mouthfeel is superficial and the taste is simple. The palate is much like the mouth with its faint meats, dill, dry oak and youthful yeasty touches. It's interesting but it's more a work in progress than a ready whisky.
    • Finish
Starts to fade away too soon after swallowing.
