  1. SpiritualLuk did not rate this whisky Newbie

    Color: Pale brown

Aroma: Very complex and balanced. Ash and burnt wood, sea shells and smoked salmon, maple and toffee, earth and dried red fruits.

Taste: Rich, intense and very powerful.

    Finish: alcohol heat.

Overall: A very complex scotch. Nose is incredible but taste might feel a little overwhelming.

  2. Ivynor scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

I find it better than the DE 1995-2013. Excellent product!
    • Nose
Lagavulin! Subtle peat, iodine, then sherry, dried fruits, caramel, spices, fresh orange peel, menthol notes, cough syrup, orange liqueur
    • Taste
Creamy and sweet, finely smoked. It's a true melting dessert, on syrup, orange liquor, chocolate. Superb!
    • Finish
Medium, on smoke, cocoa, caramel cream

  5. I_SPEY scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

The nose is very impressive, dry and sweet, with smoke and fruit; the palate is RICH and perfectly balanced with subtle tastes of honey and `some` pepper. Beautiful and exciting! The finish is smooth, dry and very long, as w`re used to!

  6. ricolek scored this whisky 91 points Member Junior

    • Nose
Seaweed, smoke, sulphured wine cask, medicinal tones, freshly baked bread
    • Taste
Oily, medium fullness, very very pleasant
    • Finish
A lot of seaweed, smoke, sherry coming through ash, wet clay, autumn forest, VERY long
