    • Nose
Blackberry, cognac-like candied orange, mint, eucalyptus, litchy, apple, lemon and lavender. With water there's new rubber like in a cheap Bristol or Scapino shoe store.
    • Taste
Blackberry, peppermint, orange, plum, smoke, eucalyptus and chalk. Oddly, even though the sherry influence is obviously present it has some traits of a bourbon.
    • Finish
More heavy on sherry now. Dark chocolate, plum, mint, mocha, blackberry and a little smoke.

Powerful, yet balanced and with plenty of complexity. Not exactly easygoing, and I don't think this style is for everyone, but it is heaven to me.
    • Nose
There's quite a lot of smoke, some peat too. It has an earthy, dunnage quality with burlap and mushrooms. A hint of tobacco, furniture polish and cocoa powder, accompanied by cherry syrup. Sherried Glen Scotia at its best.
    • Taste
Lots of chocolate and cigar tobacco, with a subtle smokiness. Some light menthol and cough syrup notes, followed by black pepper, cherries, and berries. Just wonderful.
    • Finish
Earthy, smoky with a touch of cough syrup. Long...

A good IB Glen Scotia, nothing spectacular and if it had been slightly less bitter it would have got a few more marks.
    • Nose
Sweet on plum, apple, a little black currant, caramel wafers, treacle pudding.

      Nice nose.
    • Taste
Full bodied with a little toffee bitterness and very faint hints of orange. There are a few meat notes and then some really creamy caramel that is fighting with the bitterness.
    • Finish
Medium length smooth and a little coffee right at the end

    Colour:

    Dark gold / amber.

    Smell:

A full, sweet, rich, balanced and complex whisky with aroma’s of lush sherry, brown sugar, sultanas, rich creamy vanille, malted barley, dried fruits (figs, plums, dates), rum, raisins, sweet tobacco, subtle solventy note, caramel, sweet balsamic, red fruits, bees wax, subtle leather, furniture polish, backed apples, over ripe pears, strawberries, earthy tones (mushrooms?? or wet leaves), old oak, a whiff of faith smoke, floral tones (honeysuckle and dried flowers), toffee, custard pudding and sweet oak.

    Taste:

A soft, round, rich, balanced and lush whisky with aroma’s of sweet sherry, dried fruits (dates, figs, plums and some apricots), candied orange, nuts (macadamia, hazelnuts and slightly bitter walnuts), mango, sultana’s, rum raisins, stewed apples, backed pears, cocoa, subtle mocha, sweet ginger, cinnamon, subtle clove, pepper, balsamic, a hint of Marmite, varnish, leather, cigar tobacco, furniture polish, old books, wax, creamy oak and softly bitter tannins.

    Finish:

A long and creamy finish with aroma’s of creamy oak, new leather, sweet tobacco, a whiff of smoke, chocolate covered hazelnuts, raisins, soft spices and oak.

    Conclusion:

This is a very lush and lovely whisky, it’s almost feminine in character (if one could say that about a whisky). This dram is opening slowly over time (a drop of water could help you, if you want) and slowly reveals the charming layers of flavours and aroma’s.

This is a truly great whisky that can keep me occupied the whole evening.

let me summarize it in one word: YUM!

Nose : Demerara sugar, dried fruits (Sultanas), spices, and quite some smoke, which i was not expecting at all. Also, some Balsamic notes mixed with wet old wood.
Palate: Smokey sherry, Can this get any better? Smoke is felt immediately, kind of a BBQ smoke after grilling meat in a sweet marinade , The sultanas, and dry fruits are also here, and a certain fruitiness i can not put my finger on.
Finish : Smoke, leather, chocolate. with the leather and smoke just lingering.Bottom line:

Smoke, sweetness, sherry. this can not get any better.
Amazingly good, a true cracker! the best Kintra i had so far, and by far.

Superb nose, mouth a little monotonous.
    • Nose
Light sherry, pure. On the red fruits. Grape rum is quite greedy. Eucalyptus stealth, tobacco (cigar) also. A very heady and very addictive note of solvent, sometimes it is a defect but here I like! A little dried mushrooms. It is very complex, very greedy.
    • Taste
Sweet, ample. Macadamia nuts, hazelnuts too. Very very slightly fruity.
    • Finish
Persistence on nuts, hazelnut paste. Average length. More intense than the middle of the mouth.
