  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

A lovely old dram. It's particularly impressive on the nose and, despite its 40% ABV, still quite powerful on the palate. However, I find it lacks the aromatic intensity it would have had with a few more percent.
    • Nose
It takes a little while to open up on the nose, but then the hint of wet cardboard disappears and the malt becomes incredibly fruity and rich. There's also some wood and a subtle anise note. Very good indeed.
    • Taste
On the palate it is quite lively for its age, though some OBF and slightly more bitter notes mar the juicy fruit punch.
    • Finish
The finish is slightly bitter and a bit peppery; the fruitiness runs through the entire whisky. It finishes with a full mouthfeel and a touch of dry bitterness, becoming slightly thin, but beautifully mineral.
