Above all, the vanilla sweetness remains in memory, for a blend no pulpy aromas, but beautifully formulated. Unfortunately, the heavily badly bound alcohol pulls down the rating.
    • Nose
soft, fine, fruity, malty, bright fruit punch in rum, apples, oranges, raisins, cherries, honey, vanilla, a hint of smoke, glue, alcohol stings
    • Taste
sparkling, velvety, fruity-syrup-sweet; a touch of cognac, apples, fruit punch, new fruits, plum, peach, apricot, mango, a lot of vanilla, honey, malt, raisins, plus some milk chocolate and a "chilli-catch light", altogether very alcoholic
    • Finish
medium long, fine, sweet and spicy, a lot of vanilla and some honey, milk chocolate

decent whiskey - but 35.00 € for 0.5 liters, you do not have to!
    • Nose
      intense Citrus fruit, sweet, distinct vanilla and oak;
    • Taste
diluted: full-bodied spicy on the nose, oranges, a lot of oak / spice, honey, oily, complex
    • Finish
      medium length finish; Vanilla sounds; reminiscent of Bourbon;

Beautiful bouquet, develops well in the mouth with a surprising sweetness for its 51,4 °.
I find a good balance between fresh and woody, a drinkable whiskey with a rather warm finish.

  6. Monte Gehro scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

A blend of the better sort. Strong, but round and pleasing. For the current price (about 35 Euro / 0,5l, as of March 2018) a good change in the bar.
    • Nose
Complex, almost filigree. Vanilla, malt, orange, honey sweetness, toffees. At times a disturbing alcohol and / or adhesive note.
    • Taste
Despite over 50% alcohol content a rather velvety on the tongue. Honey and fruit sweetness, a little oak, again vanilla.
    • Finish
Pretty sweet with vanilla and some spice, rather short. At the end bitter bitter espresso notes appear.

    Color: gold.

Nose: floral, fruity, with apricots,  spicies and a hint of orange peel.

Taste: strong, spicy and notes of oak and ripe fruit flavors. Dry sherry, light orange peel, apples and coffee.

Finish: long, with fruit flavors, combined with soft oak and vanilla notes; slight smokiness of cocoa.

Comments: very nice, award winning whisky(WWA 2007)

  11. Lafroy scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Light fruit and some notes of sweetness, glue, paint thinner, steam room wood, smoke, varnish, hints of spirit. Also some hints of malted barley and hay. Additionally some notes of cherry and plums.
    • Taste
Sour cherries, green apple, dryness, hints of plum in spirit, some notes of fruits at the end.
    • Finish
      Medium long, sour and dry.

A nice blend at a very good price, what the people ask: p?
    • Nose
End and not aggressive, it turns out quite complex. It is oily (butter, nutty), oaky, but it is mostly worn on leather and apricot. Solvent. Dry residues are on dried apricots as an aperitif.
    • Taste
From the caramel at the beginning of the mouth, it becomes then powerful and spicy (pepper). It recalls the fruits but with this time a touch of freshness and more (apple).
    • Finish
Long and in the continuity of the mouth with a penchant for woody and ripe fruits. Liquorice touch.

there is definitely a good amount of the Nikka Single Coffey Grain in this one. The 70th Anniversary Coffey Grain is quite similar with it dry oakyness, but with less complexity.

  14. CrilleVBG scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

    Blended whisky 51.4% ? Fantastic.
    • Nose
Neat: Very sprity and full of alcohol. Oak and toffee. With Water: No more alcohol aromas, but instead oak, oak and oak.
    • Taste
Neat: It's smooth and rather tasteless. With Water: Oak and vanilla flavors.
    • Finish
Long finish, and it's all about wood now.
