Whisky Reviews for Caol Ila 12-year-old BW

- Another successful bottling. More citrus and pepper than the bull, but with a very nice vanilla sweetness. The grassy, dry smoke, which is typical of Caol Ila, is only very subtle and almost imperceptible.
Sweet smelling vanilla on the nose, with cotton candy, créme brulée and meringue. Exotic fruits such as watery reticulated melon, sour passion fruit and green bananas as well as lemons, physalis and sour pineapples appear. Leather and some snuff merge into dry spices, nutmeg and peppery oak. Grassy, dry smoke, ash and sea air can only be easily heard.
The mouth is filled with dry, grassy and hot-peppery aromas at the beginning. Then follows sweet citrus, vanilla and green grapes. Here too, almost no smoke is perceptible.
The finish is vanilla, sweet and warm with dry grassy notes and very little smoke.
