  1. Boletus did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

A thoroughly interesting barrel combination, although the result almost goes a bit too far for me. At least the very malty base spirit of ''Säntis'' prevents it from drifting into liquor-like realms, but this malt is more for people who like to drink Curaçaos and have a sweet tooth. You can certainly have an exciting experience off the beaten track with whisky.
    • Nose
The scent of the orange liqueur covers almost everything else, it seems very sweet and sticky right from the start, dried orange peel, very ripe apricots, also reminds a bit of alcoholic sweets in the direction of brandy beans and orange marzipan, but when you take a deep breath you can feel an alcoholic tingle Do not deny the nose, oak can also be found in the background, but this has rather rotten and musty aromas to offer, a hint of malty dark bock beer hovers in the last row
    • Taste
Extremely sticky and sweet, it flows in the mouth, looks like an orange liqueur with a very high alcohol content, the orange aromas vary from dried orange peel to orange peel and "thick-cut" orange marmalade, apart from the dominant taste of oranges there are at most a few fully ripe apricots as fruit components , a small piece of marzipan coated in dark milk chocolate, becoming malty over time with a hint of dark beer, block malt, the oak remains part of the background and contributes a few musty notes
    • Finish
Medium length, with the intensity quickly fading, orange oil and again the dried orange peel, marzipan with (how could it be otherwise) orange aroma, a few more brandy beans are nibbled, the sweetness fades with a longer lasting malty aftertaste and a rest of the musty old oak
