About Lechside:

Different whisky batches tasted: over 4200

In 2003 I came to whisky through my beloved friend mx-joe. I immediately appreciated unpeated whisky, but I was also forced to drink Laphroaig 10 several times in the first couple of years. And I thought it was disgusting and inhuman! Luckily my taste evolved and soon I also liked peated whisky. I always had a soft spot for sweet finishes, especially these Oloroso's that happen to be way not as dry as many say it would have to be. Now my heart is wide open for all kinds of whiskies, also Grain (but these distilleries in Scotland never open their doors to me, that's a shame!). Especially when whiskies from Lost Distilleries come across I have rather no chance to resist, however time has taught me that you can't have them all, you can't even taste them all. So it's all about concessions and there are various limits at some point.

I share bottles every now and then, there is also a samples list, feel free to ask if you want to take part. Since 2022 I organize an annual live tasting in Augsburg called "Rare & Fancy", let me know if you want to pop up, it will be sold out one day. Amongst that, visiting distilleries all over the world became a hobby that is systematically integrated into my holidays. Always willing to give assistance and proselytize people to whisky, that's what developed over the last 20+ years.
