Kavalan! ... the color alone suggests a Kavalan. Dark mahogany in the glass, opulent and dark sherry aroma in the nose and on the tongue, menthol and eucalyptus in the aftertaste, plus barrel strength and a lot of volume, this 9-year-old Kavalan is really friends and fun!

    • Nose
Dark mahogany shines in the Premium Snifter, thick and oily "legs" stick to the glass wall. Dark sherry rises heavily, echoes of furniture polish and wet leather mix with old caramel and dried berries, morello cherries and sour cherries. After a few moments, sweet apricots and velvety peaches appear, minimal abrasion of orange peel falls on crumbs of dark chocolate, sugar plays with a hint of hazelnut, in the background there are refreshing notes of mint and eucalyptus. Blackberries stimulate the saliva and make you want to take the first sip ...
    • Taste
With the first sip, dark, velvety vineyard peach with creamy apricot pours over the tongue, seconds later spicy and tart wood tones envelop the tongue, black pepper tickles the cheeks minimally and distributes its subtle heat all over the mouth. Suddenly the flow of saliva is massively stimulated with the second sip, sharpness massages the tongue, furniture polish and wet leather stick to the palate, sour cherries follow with dark chocolate and burnt caramel. Intense dark sherry aroma floods the palate, fresh mint and menthol slowly move into the foreground, the alcohol really heats up the tongue and the palate. The aftertaste announces itself with wet hazelnuts ...
    • Finish
The aftertaste starts to be cozy, warm and slightly tart, dark fruit aromas stick with tart and spicy wood tones on the palate, the fresh menthol or eucalyptus note becomes more dominant, as does the initially weak nut note. The intense and voluminous aromas lingered on the palate for a long time and gave the impression that they never fade ...
