Palate: Rosè wine weight and feel, with a pink port sweetness. Cognac flavoured caramel stirred with a sprig of apple mint. With water, softens the caramel and allows a more earthy herbal note to come through. Parsley and margoram.
Finish: Raspberry and milk chocolate herbal tea. Long and sweet. Doesn’t significantly reduce with water. Lovely dram. Never been a wine cask fan but it shows how a whisky can be enhanced with a quality vessel. Bruichladdich works well with this calibre of red wine cask.
