About Whiskyslam:

The production of whiskey is sufficiently described in the literature. Many steps are required to turn a given grain crop into a drink. In each of these processing steps, the beverage goes through a mechanical or chemical procedure that influences its taste profile to a greater or lesser extent. One could even predict the taste to some extent based on all this basic data. That being said, the taste of the beverage on your taste buds after pouring it into the glass depends on so many other factors. Interests, daily form, emotional/social conditions, time of day, season, music etc...

It's also impossible for me to judge after a neckpour. Time is magic here. I write down my impressions after each drink, and when the bottle is halfway through or even nearing the end, I allow myself to draw a conclusion. Even then I don't do justice to a whisky, because this drink is alive - in every phase of production and with every decreasing liquid level in the bottle, a new facet shows up again and again. I do not write reviews to discredit or praise whiskeys for the sake of making money. Writing helps me to appreciate the drink and to enjoy it mindfully. If I don't rate a bottle that well, then I probably haven't found access to it yet and the facet I'm particularly interested in hasn't (yet) shown itself. Therefore, and of course, my conclusion is an absolutely personal opinion.

210.000 bottles milestone release

A new release for the 210.000 bottles milestone. We just passed the 210.000 registered bottles, which calls for a new whisky. We selected an M&H pomegranate wine cask, which matured at the dead sea (the lowest point on earth). It is a huge flavor bomb. However, with only 255 bottles available, you should not wait too long.
