About Kopite:

Discovered whisky in the late 1990s, and have been curious and passionate about single malt whisky ever since.

Got a particular attention towards Glenfarclas, Arran, Glendronach, Tomatin, Springbank, and Glenburgie, in terms of operational distilleries, whereas Rosebank and Millburn are favorites of the closed distilleries.

I am not a collector, however I buy and trade for the purpose of exploring and enjoying whisky with friends and like-minded. From my point of view whisky opens for great social happenings, it creates space for good discussions, and it energises new additions to the collection, or future travels to destilleries or whisky festivals.

Swedish? Nope, it's just a practical (tax) approach.

I do sometimes rate whiskies, and with numerous interpretations as to how whisky is rated, as well as a number of  irrelevant and/or ridiculous ratings.... Here are some guidance as to how I rate whiskies:

0-50: This is a dram to avoid at any cost. May serve as an evil tool for educational purposes
51-60: This is a dram for the curious and not faint hearted. To be avoided if possible
61-70: This is a dram that is neither very drinkable or enjoyable, however it provides some meaning as how to understand whisky
71-80: This is a dram to try out, but nothing to be too excited about or something to buy
81-85: This is a dram I would sometimes try, but it lacks the overall balance and quality to convince me
86-90: This is a dram I would regularly visit and enjoy, and it serves as a (very) reasonable benchmark
91-94: This is a dram of extremely good quality, to be enjoyed and savoured, and a high class benchmark
95-100: This is a dram difficult to describe. Perfection at all levels

Celebration of 180.000 bottles in Whiskybase

Growing the Whiskybase platform and going through our celebration moments each milestone, this time another 10.000 bottles added to Whiskybase. We managed to grow to 180.000 bottles and it is time to reveal a new bottle to our members. A 24-year-old Glentauchers from a bourbon barrel selected for Whiskybase members. A nice one if you like your daily fruit. One to sip, not to flip!
