About elmkos:

When I was young in the seventies and eighties, whisky meant to me Jim Beam and Johnny Walker (Red Label) and most of the time mixed with Cola. I never liked that and long time i said, "no, Whiksy is not my favourite". I likde more enjoying red wine. But soon a friend brought a Glenfiddich 12Y and later a Glenlivet 12Y and I learned, that there is a difference. But it lasted until 2019. I was on the ferry from Ijmuiden to Newcastle on a Minicruise. There in the shop I could taste the Glenfiddich again.

I addition I learned, that whisky is also good opportunity to invest money, better then on a bank account and I read several articles about it. Though I startet buying Whisky as investement, too.  The good thing is, if the whisky does not raise in value, I can always drink and enjoy. You can't do this with shares, gold or old pictures. Thats why I buy only Whisky, I would like to drink, not only for the money.

Since 2019 I made several tours through Scotland and visited several destilleries, Glenfiddich, Macallan, Glenlivet, Highland Park, Tobermory, Kingbarns, Edradour, Aberfeldy etc. I would highly recommend a tour at Glenfiddich, Highland Park and Macallan. Interessting is the difference between the traditional Glenfiddich und the new modern Macallan. Every has its own charme.
