About dominikbraun:

While being curious and open-minded towards distilleries, I'm mostly looking for well-thought-out whiskies these days. I tend not to like the showmanship and concealing of young age through excessive cask maturation unveiled by some independent bottlers - balance, solidity, and soundness are more impressive to me.

At the moment, I'm particularly interested in bottlings of Glen Elgin, Glen Keith, and Craigellachie, and the Speyside is my preferred region. And if I was invited to a tasting with Laphroaig, Bunnahabhain, Macallan, Glendronach, and some others, chances are that I'd confirm.

Next to the taste of a whisky, I do attach importance to its presentation, distillery policy, and price policy, and I'm a strict opponent of artificial coloring. These aspects aren't taken into account in my ratings though, because exorbitant prices or questionable marketing aren't the whisky's fault. Therefore, only taste is considered here.

210.000 bottles milestone release

A new release for the 210.000 bottles milestone. We just passed the 210.000 registered bottles, which calls for a new whisky. We selected an M&H pomegranate wine cask, which matured at the dead sea (the lowest point on earth). It is a huge flavor bomb. However, with only 255 bottles available, you should not wait too long.
