About Bendrachm:

Daddy of two here. Director of photography by day, coffee roaster and lockpicker by night.

Bendrachm is the compound of my son's first name and that ancient silver stater. After the rise and fall of empires the drachma (literally a fistful) survived as Arabic currency, units of volume (in the undiluted sense of the word, 1 ℨ makes roughly 3.5 ml) and as an expression for the very liquid so dear to us. Linguistically, it does not qualify as a blend. A whiskymanteau perhaps? Translation: my stash of whisky.

A dram is my diopter for the inward eye. The Cooke or Baltar of drinks. A vintage lens that resolves the finest of details while retaining character. Just love to rack focus through the pointillistic makeup of chemosensory landscapes...

My avatar is a finished Aberlour from the "Vanishing Spirits" series by photographer Ernie Button. Heisenberg was spot on. Air do slàinte!

* A Princeton professor by the name of Howard A. Stone has since explained the science in Button's whisky art.
