About BarleyPeat_55er:

My whisky expedition started when I first discovered the great "Islay complexity" (smoke; peat, ash, iodine, minerals, salt, tobacco & leather) at an Islay festival in the 1990's with the delicious Lagavulin; Ardbeg; Laphroaig; Bowmore and Caol Ila. I was immediately a huge “Islay fan”. During another trip through Scotland with friends in 1996, my taste was immediately expanded to delicious Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherrycask matured malts during visits at the Glendronach Distillery in Forgue and the Edradour distillery in Pitlochry with their marvelous sherry cask matured malts!. I am not a collector or modern investor. When possible I buy a tasty bottle (after informing Whiskybase) just to regularly enjoy a nice dram chilling with my best friends who have also become “passionate malt enthusiasts”. We organize our “whisky tastings” every month, where we spoil our taste buds with the latest beautiful malt discoveries we have made. The most I like delicious malts of Glendronach! And ofcause Lagavulin; Ardbeg; Laphroaig; Bowmore; Bunnahabhain; Kilchoman; Arran; Edradour; Ballechin; Aberlour; Glen Garioch; Glenallachie; Macallan; Balvenie; BenRiach; Bladnoch; Kilkerran; Springbank; Lindores; Mortlach; Tamdhu; Overaged Michel Couvreurs; etc. Slàinte!
