About Clynelish

Clynelish was founded in 1819 in the coastal town of Brora. In the late 1960s, a new distillery was built beside the original Clynelish, inheriting the name. The old Clynelish stillhouse was renamed “Brora” and continued producing until its closure in 1983. Although Clynelish’s main focus remains on blend production, its famously waxy single malt has appeared often in independent bottlings, giving enthusiasts a clearer sense of its character.
