Campfire, salty, lemony, peaty, slightly earthy. Maritime.
Oily and spicy on the palate, the alcohol is quite present.
A woody finish and a few lemon peels with a generous dose of sea salt.

[May 2026] A quick review of a small sample...

...which is an excepnionally good dram for a modern whisky, to be honest. It owns a fat and oily mouthfeel with a very long finish, and a fruity-waxy-spicy profile both in the nose and on the palate. The wood is firm, but not too dominant - this cask was bottled at the right time. Very quaffable stuff!

Fruity, dried figs, raisins, woody, spicy, leather and tobacco. Quite dry with an impressive sherry influence that's personally just a bit too dominant. Difficult to get much of the actual Laddie character here.

It doesn't exactly taste like a classic single malt at first, but it's still more exciting than a pure bourbon or rye aroma.

The American white oak has done a great job, but the longer it stands, the more the malty aromas come to the fore.
Nevertheless, the intense vanilla aroma initially remains ever-present.

It's also obvious that the whiskey is really good for its age.
Sure, the whiskey is strong, but at no point harsh or really alcoholic (at least in the nose - on the palate it definitely needs water).

With water I find more orange, more milk chocolate and even some eucalyptus as well as glue, ester aromas and resins.

What I find truly impressive is how much water it can handle and how much it changes as a result. In the end, I added about 40% water, and the whiskey still feels compact, aromatically rich, and the malt flavors become even more pronounced.

    Not particularly complex after pouring, but I like these intense aromas, which are clear, delicate, and clean. Unlike, for example, an overly sweet or winey sherry brett.

    The more water it gets, the more the aromas resemble old sherry malts with lacquer, polished wood, and ester notes. It's amazing how the nose develops when diluted to about 45% ABV and left to stand for 30 minutes. Now it's more malt than bourbon or rye.

    This is where it reaches its limit – at least for me – because almost 63% ABV and 3 years old are simply too strong for me to enjoy this sensation. Besides, the flavors are too closed off.

    This is the aroma from the nose, and it is harmonious, however, the individual aromas are no longer so clearly distinguishable and blend into one another.

    With water, you get more dark wood and much more malt.

    I only achieve the 88 points with water, but then they are well deserved because the mouthfeel is round, harmonious and remains pleasant.

Positively surprised I can not point some flaws... Missing some catch but hands down this is good thing

    Burnt plastic, light soap, lightly burnt caramel, interesting coconut, citrus fruits primary lemon peel, nice sweetness, some toasted wood, apple juice

    After some time lot of previously mentioned notes disappear and some interesting funkiness pops up, primary that are notes of decomposing grass stack

    Definitely not bad, would say much better then expected, only problem it dies after ~hour in the glass
