My malt whisky journey started in the early '90s - at a big pipe-smoker's event in a big church in Arnhem, in the Netherlands.

At the event there also was a whisky stand with a representative of The Balvenie distillery. There I bought my first bottle of malt: a Balvenie 10 years old. And so it all began.

Ever since I have tasted malt whiskies from some 40 or 50 different Scotch distilleries I guess, and I was lucky enough to visit  the same number of distilleries in Scotland, a few time taking a tour, but at least going back with a nice photograph of the distillery.
